Oct 19, 2007 Is there any other location that the serial number is located on a HiPoint.45 other than the serial plate? For firearms on the consumer market (not of military origin) it is not common for the serial number to be anywhere but the reciever. With the military surplus guns, it can be found on most major parts as a way to.
. 68 Answers SOURCE: Are you asking how to clean an ACP 45, 1911 style? If so, its just a matter of removing the clip. Removing the slide, then removing the barrel and spring. 1) MAKE SURE IT IS UNLOADED!!! (cycle the slide several times) 2) Remove clip and Cycle the slide again to verify empty! 3)There is a pin just above and forward of the trigger mech on the frame of the pistol.
One side of the pin will be rounded and protruding from the right side of the gun. On the left side of the frame will be a small flat arm that is connected to it the pin.
Push the body of the slide towards the hammer (approx 1/8-1/4 of an inch) and you should be able to remove the pin out of the frame (towards the left side of the frame), it might take a bit of wiggling to get it out. All the while, continue with backwards pressure on the slide.
Once the pin is out the slide can move forward and can be removed from the gun. 4) At this point the barrel/ spring and trigger mech will be exposed. You can remove the barrel and spring for proper cleaning of the frame, trigger, barrel and spring. Then relubricate all components.
5) Reassemble in reverse order. Good Luck Posted on Jun 04, 2012.
LSB#: 180129MG47 Make: Hi-Point Firearms Model: JCP 40 Serial Number: X 24693 Year of Manufacture: Modern Caliber:.40 S&W Action Type: Striker Fired, Bloback, Semi-Automatic, Removable Magazine Fed Pistol With Frame Mounted Safety & Magazine Disconnect Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “HI-POINT FIREARMS / IBERIA FIREARMS INC. / Iberia OH / MODEL JCP / 40 S&W”. The bottom of the accessory rail has a metal plaque marked 'X 24693'.
Barrel Length: 4 1/2” Sights / Optics: The front sight is a rampd blade with a vertical white line on its rear face. The rear sight is a square-notch leaf screwed to the top of the barrel, adnustable for windage and elevation. Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece mottled green plastic panels. The left panel has a large loss at the top which exposes the slide-stop hood and spring and there is a crack at the top edge of the loss beneath the safety/slide-stop lever. The right panel has a long crack going down from the mounting screw and terminating before the bottom edge. The grips are in about Poor-Fair overall condition. Type of Finish: Green slide, black polymer frame.
Finish Originality: Original Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
There is a ring of 5 gouges in the bore approximately 1' from the muzzle which begins at about 7 o'clock when looking down the bore from the muzzle and goes around to about 3 o's clock getting progressively deeper as you go clockwise. The last gouge has a notable burr sticking into the bore. This should be addressed prior to firing to prevent damage to the pistol or user. Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 90% of its finish. The frame has white paint scattered through the accessory rail and front of the trigger guard with a few scattered light marks in the frame. The slide has scattered light nicks, dings and scrapes.
The markings are clear. The screw heads are tool marked but not disfigured.
Overall, this handgun is in about Fair condition. Mechanics: The action appears to function correctly. This pistol has a magazine disconnect. The trigger is a little squishy as is common with Hi-Points. The magazine release button is missing, but its post still protrudes from the frame and is useable. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The gun comes with a single 10-round magazine. The magazine exhibits use wear on the exterior, intact feed lips and a questionably strong spring. The spring may need to be replaced to ensure proper feeding. Overall, the magazine is in about Fair condition.
Our Assessment: As Hi-Points go, this model is somewhat feature-rich with its adjustable sights, accessory rail and green finished slide. It could use a new set of grips, new magazine release button and may need a new magazine or magazine spring to feed properly, but once this has been addressed, its striker-fired blowback-operated design is very simple with little to go wrong. It may not be the most beautiful gun in the world, but 10-rounds of.40 S&W is nothing to sneer at if you need a pistol for self-defense. Please see our photos and good luck!
